Interested in learning how ceramics are made?

If you’ve been keen to get your hands dirty in some clay then we have some great news for you! Louise teaches beginners classes in hand-building and slip-casting. To book a class you can head to the Sydney Community College website, or for private bookings you can contact her direct

Examples of Past Students Work

In the classes Louise encourages you to pursue your own projects (within certain limits due to size and time restraints). This way you get to make what you’re interested in, with support from Louise and her knowledge of various ceramic techniques. Here are some of the things that have been made in earlier classes.

The Studio

All classes are taught out of Louise’s Marrickville studio, surrounded by other creatives. Entrance is via 143 Renwick Street.

“The course is well structured and thorough. Louise is a extremely knowledgeable and great communicator who creates a cheerful and supportive atmosphere. She encourages students to follow their own styles and gives them all the help she can to produce a good result. We all learned a lot and had great fun.”

“Louise was so patient with all of our questions. She also gave us the freedom and encouragement to explore our ideas and thoughts”
